2020 Polar Roll

Thursday, February 13th:  Last practice

This Thursday’s practice has been moved to SportsRack in Marquette at 4:00.  We will be riding the BLP trails and meeting after at The Villa restaurant for pizzas and handing out our race jerseys. This is a mandatory practice for race week!

Saturday, February 15th: 906 Polar Roll 2020

It’s GO time!

The Polar Roll start time is 8:00 am, (Blame Todd and Danny). We will meet at the Ishpeming High School at 7:15 am for line up. The Start The Cycle trailer and bikes will be in the parking lot on the corner of E. Pearl St. and S. 4th St. (where the Bell Memorial Hospital used to be). Laura and our group of volunteers will be in the IHS cafeteria Start The Cycle aid station if you can’t find her at the start line!

Racers:  Remember to eat a good meal on Friday night, pasta is always a good idea!  We will meet you at Ishpeming High School at 7:15 am Saturday.

Mentors:  If you signed up to race, please meet us at 7:15 at IHS.  You will NOT need to register for the race if you are just riding with the team as support.

Volunteers:  We are cooking soup on Friday at 10am in the Masonic Building kitchen if you want to cook!  We will be setting up at the Ishpeming High School at 6:00 am Saturday for the Aid Station. If you would like to volunteer to serve, it would be fine to arrive after the start, the first racers are anticipated to arrive at the finish at 9:15-9:30 am.  The slower short racers and the long race riders will be completed by approximately 11:00. We will need help serving and cleaning up after. 

*There is an optional Polar Roll after race party at Barrel & Beam in Marquette that starts at 7:00pm and the awards ceremony is at 7:30pm. Music at 8:00pm.  


The most important part of race day- HAVE FUN!  Meet some new friends, help other riders, enjoy the beautiful trails and most of all CELEBRATE!  You are AMAZING ATHLETES!!!
